Program Impact

HyperStream has grown to over 200 clubs across Iowa and reaches nearly 3000 students every year. Additionally, surveys show that 51% of students who participate in HyperStream say plan on exploring careers in technology. 

 

Program Overview

HyperStream clubs expose students in grades 5 through 12 to technology through hands-on technology projects, competitions, showcases, engaging presentations, and the opportunity to work with technology mentors.

HyperStream clubs can meet after school or be added into the curriculum. To help develop a future IT Workforce, HyperStream connects 5th– to 12th-grade students with industry professionals who expose the students to potential IT careers and mentor them as they complete IT-Related curriculum and projects.

The program provides students with access to technology-based education and real-world experiences. HyperStream focuses on five learning tracks rooted in computer science: Multimedia, Game Design, Cyber Defense, Application Development and Robotics.

How To Get Involved

HyperStream is always looking for technologists, programmers, engineers, product creators, business analysts, project managers, marketers, and entrepreneurs to work directly with the students on hands-on tech projects.

We have needs for both of the following types of Clubs all across the state: On-Site Teams in schools or libraries, and with groups such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts Virtual Teams – for those rural areas where we cannot locate tech professionals, we’ll provide the virtual tools to communicate with your club.
