Teachers integrate the Pillars into their practice through use of the curriculum and ongoing participation in professional development opportunities and school-based professional learning communities. The program aims to improve teaching and learning in order to provide all students--particularly less advantaged students and students who are at risk for dropping out of school--the skills, knowledge, and motivation that will equip them for success in postsecondary learning and their future careers. Ford PAS is part of Ford Motor Company Fund's Next Generation Learning initiative, which mobilizes educators, employers, and community leaders to enable young people to graduate from high school both college- and career-ready.
